My preferred park is the Masaï Mara, my main photographs
of Giraffe are taken in the Mara.

One can recognize the Masaï Giraffe easily by the shape
of his spots
in the shape of a very notched maple leaf.

It eats the leaves of the acacias while passing its tongue between
the
large spines, thus grazing the small tender leaves.

It likes to eat the same tree as the elephants, but
with the difference that
the elephants tear off and eat by crushing all the branches of the acacia
while starting with the branches top, to the trunk ! the large spines
of the 5 cm length acacia do not frighten the elephants. The final
result is that after the passage of elephants there remain nothing
any more (see photo two lines above on the right)
The Masaï Giraffes after the rains
The Savanna is quite green during heavy rains
of autumn from April at June.
Here a baby, it is not more than 4 weeks old, for it
still has
its umbilical cord. See in photograph above
(the first on the left, click to enlarge)
A question ?
Do you prefer the Giraffes in summer on gold color
grass or grass that is a green color ?
Reticulate Giraffes
The difference with the Masaï, the spots are clearer
less notched forms and a little denser.
Rothchild Giraffes
They are like reticulated giraffe, but with white legs,
not only the
bottom of the legs, but all of the leg to the top and
without marked spots.
I will soon show you photographs !
